Texas requires photo ID to vote. Accepted forms include:
Texas driver’s license (issued by DPS)
Texas personal ID card (issued by DPS)
Texas Election Identification Certificate (EIC) – free from DPS
Texas handgun license (license to carry)
U.S. passport (book or card)
U.S. military ID with photo
If you don't have an acceptable ID, you can vote by signing a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and showing a supporting document (utility bill, bank statement, government check, etc.).

Mail-in voting in Texas is limited to voters who are:
65 or older on Election Day
Sick or disabled with a physical condition that makes voting in person on Election Day likely to require help or risk your health
Expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day
Civilly committed under Chapter 841 of the Texas Health and Safety Code
Away from their county during the entire early voting period AND Election Day
Confined in jail but otherwise eligible
Request a ballot from your county's Early Voting Clerk. Applications must be received (not postmarked) by February 20, 2026 for the primary.
